Kingwood's own Kristen Hertzenberg is best known for her role as "Christine" in the Las Vegas production of The Phantom of the Opera and was lauded by critics for her clear soprano voice with "the strength to keep the high notes rooted in emotion." She has toured Europe in a production of the 1960s Love Rock musical Hair and has performed a series of sold-out solo concerts in Las Vegas. She has also starred in the hit Broadway musical Million Dollar Quartet on the Las Vegas strip. In 2014, Desert Companion magazine named her Best Torch Singer and many other Las Vegas publications have also taken notice, hailing her as "graceful," "gorgeously voiced," and "a singer with extraordinary vocal depth.”
Philip Fortenberry, pianist, has played for ten Broadway shows and has performed in concerts from Lincoln Center to Carnegie Hall, from the Kennedy Center to the White House. His one- man-show, “The Man at the Piano”, continues to play to sold-out houses around the country. Philip was the piano double for Michael Douglas’ award-winning performance as Liberace in the HBO biopic, “Behind the Candelabra”. Philip is the music coordinator for the Broadway Series at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas and is also the organist for Community Lutheran Church.
