Kristen Hertzenberg is best known for her role as Christine Daae in Hal Prince and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s beautifully revised Las Vegas production of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, in which she played over 800 performances.
She has proven her ability to sing anything in her concerts, performing music ranging from opera to Broadway to blues. As one writer at the Las Vegas Weekly stated, "Hertzenberg reaches out to her audience with so much personality, skill, emotion, and vocal power that it's no surprise Desert Companion Magazine named her Best Torch Singer." Kristen trained classically and earned a master's degree in opera before moving to New York to pursue theatre. After nearly two years touring major European cities in the musical HAIR, she moved to Las Vegas for her dream role in PHANTOM. She has also enjoyed playing Sophie in Terrence McNally's MASTER CLASS, Heidi in [TITLE OF SHOW], and starring as Dyanne in the long-running Las Vegas production of the Tony award-winning musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET. In Las Vegas, Kristen had the great honor of performing alongside Hal Prince in HAL PRINCE’S BROADWAY, an evening of conversation with the legendary Broadway director at The Smith Center. She was a regular in The Smith Center's prestigious Cabaret Jazz room where she fine-tuned her cabaret chops, performing as a mainstay at the monthly Composers Showcase, playing to sold-out audiences with her band, and in cabaret evenings with her musical director, Philip Fortenberry. She created two dynamic shows spotlighting her captivating vocal versatility and performed several times a year as a special guest on the main stage aboard the ultra-luxury cruise line Seabourn. She also had the honor of being the featured vocalist in the prestigious American Ballet Theatre's collaboration with Celebrity Cruises. Kristen continues to perform in pops concerts with various symphonies and in cabaret evenings in venues across the country. A mother of two beautiful children, Kristen is a recent transplant to Kansas City by way of Houston, Austin, Boston, NYC, and Las Vegas. In her short time in KC, she has already become a part of the community, volunteering at One City Cafe at the Bishop Sullivan Center and Habitat for Humanity of KC. She served as a judge for the 2023 KC Superstar competition, is an adjudicator for Starlight’s 2023-2024 Blue Star Awards, and loves participating in events and initiatives that raise social consciousness, build empathy, and promote mindfulness. |
