Best known for her role as Christine in the Las Vegas production of The Phantom of the Opera, Kristen Hertzenberg has proven her ability to sing anything in her concerts, from opera to Broadway to blues. She will be accompanied by Maestro Itkin on piano and backed by a cast of philharmonic musicians rocking the house with hits from the Eagles, James Taylor, the Doobie Brothers, Paul Simon, Carole King, and many more! The Philharmonic's popular audience sing-along closes the show and lends some holiday magic. Richard McGee will return to conduct.

Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 3pm - Rainbow Library Theatre in Las Vegas, NV Kristen Hertzenberg and Philip Fortenberry perform music from their Christmas album, recorded in 2011. “Holidays from the Heart” is a delightful concert with a variety of Christmas songs encompassing pop, Broadway, jazz, gospel, and folk styles. The performance centers around a theme of giving and the idea that the spirit of Christmas is especially powerful when we embrace it year-round. The artists each brought unique song ideas to the table and in the end produced a musical journey including Harry Connick Jr.’s “I Pray On Christmas,” Melissa Manchester’s “There’s Still My Joy,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “O Holy Night,” and “Christmas Time is Here” from the beloved "A Charlie Brown Christmas." Reynolds Hall @ The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas, NV. These performances will feature nostalgic holiday favorites from Deck the Halls to Hanukkah Suite, Ave Maria to selections from The Nutcracker Suite, and a special reading of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas by Hertzenberg and Cloer. As part of the 20th anniversary season celebration, former Associate Conductor Richard (Dick) McGee returns to guest conduct and will host a pre-concert conversation in Reynolds Hall one hour prior to the performances (1:00 PM & 6:30 PM) for patrons interested in learning more about the music and guest artists. The concerts will celebrate the most wonderful time of the year and delight audiences of all ages with nostalgic holiday melodies that have endured for decades and are synonymous with the festive season. The program will end with the orchestra's traditional audience sing-a-long. Patrons are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy free photos with Santa, activities for kids of all ages, specialty holiday treats including a hot chocolate bar and pre-concert entertainment by Sin City Opera. Single tickets include five price levels in Reynolds Hall: PT Box = $109, A Seating = $105, B Seating = $70, C Seating = $50 and D Seating = $30 Tickets can be purchased online through lvphil.org or The Smith Center Box Office at 702.749.2000. The Las Vegas Philharmonic offers a roundtrip shuttle bus service to the evening performance only from designated Henderson and Summerlin locations to the performance.
